Ubisoft's new effort, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, has a very large map, which allows, among other things, its characters to carry out raids. These, with respect to the historical period, allow the characters to attack enemy camps to obtain resources and materials. Forays can be done all over the England map and are very useful for refreshing yourself during your games.
In addition to this, if you want more information about the game, I refer you directly to our complete guide:

What are raids for?
Raids (also called "raids" in English, which always makes me think of World of Warcraft) allow you to obtain supplies and raw materials. The latter serve you for upgrade your camp in Ravensthorpe, which is why you might need to know the location. By upgrading it you can in fact add buildings to your base, greatly improving it.
The raiding positions
The raiding locations will be covered by fog on the map before you enter it, and you can only tackle these raids after completing the first mission of the storyline that deals with these areas (and which will serve as a tutorial of this mechanic). To start this raid you have to approach them by boat and press a special command that will appear on the screen to enter this area.
Alternatively you can also use the option in the menu by approaching on foot (this keeping the D-pad stretched downwards), with the same result. All of these missions can be tackled even after completing the game. Personally, I believe this is the best idea to support them, as they will usually be of very high levels that you will not be able to reach without completing the main storyline of the game.
The locations of the raids are 19 in total, all on the map of England, and are marked with the icon of two crossed red axes. You can check where they are on this full map.
