Shazam can identify a song with only a few seconds of audio. Shazam can't identify every single song, but it's reliable for anything remotely popular.
Have you ever heard a song in public that was so good that you scrambled to write the title? Sometimes, you can't write it in time and can't figure out which song it's about: it's heartbreaking.
Shazam is a useful app that makes sure you never get caught. It can identify not only songs, but also commercials, TV shows, and movies from a short audio sample.
If you absolutely need to know what's playing, take out your smartphone, open Shazam and tap the icon on the screen. The app will "listen" and once the app recognizes the song, you can follow the lyrics in real time. Shazam is available for iOS and Android.
You can also connect Shazam to your Spotify account. This way, Spotify will quickly add a song to a Shazam playlist or you can listen to multiple songs by the same artist. Connecting the two apps only takes a few steps.
