Last September it landed on Xbox One, PS4 and PC Kingdom of Amalur Re-Reckoning, updated and refined edition of what it most likely is one of the most underrated action-RPGs of the last decade. A launch that allowed many to discover for the first time the magical world born from the pen of RA Salvatore and as many to plunge back into the Faelands, a realm endowed with the main trappings of the fantasy genre that is the setting for Kingdom of Amalur.
An operation that was certainly successful in many ways, like the technical one, but that has done very little to try to convince all those who have not loved the game way back in 2012, the year of the original launch of Kingdom of Amalur. As our review of the September reissue also reports, in fact: "if you were expecting a totally different game, you will surely be disappointed. On the contrary, however, if you have always been curious or have loved him viscerally, here is the best place to feel at home ". The reasons to play or replay Kingdom of Amalur Re-Reckoning are therefore many, but the same can also be said of the Nintendo Switch version out tomorrow, March 16, 2021?
A complete and updated edition
The most important thing to point out when talking about Kingdom of Amalur Re-Reckoning per Nintendo Switch it's like it's an edition in terms of content absolutely identical to the one we saw a few months does. Anyone who feared cuts of any kind, in addition to the inevitable and physiological renunciations on a technical level which we will talk about shortly, he can therefore feel comfortable.
Even on the small hybrid from Nintendo we therefore find the complete original game, the two DLCs released to date for the title and all that series of improvements not only technical that a lot they had already convinced us in September. A new level of difficulty, improved RPG mechanics and a whole series of small upgrades, perhaps less visible, but which still contribute to make Kingdom of Amalur Re-Reckoning a more enjoyable work and in step with the times compared to the 2012 version.
The fantasy world born from the genius of RA Salvatore and Todd McFarlane therefore manages to make it great even on Nintendo Switch, not losing that bite that has always distinguished the title. Even on the Japanese consul, our epic in the role of the mysterious but malleable character without fate intent on discovering the reasons for his death, but above all for his resurrection, therefore maintains its verve both on the narrative level, on the artistic one and, above all, on the playful one.
Exploring the many possibilities granted to us by Kingdom of Amalur is indeed a real pleasure even on Nintendo Switch, with the title that puts before us a great range of choices on a different number of floors. A myriad of quests, long and full-bodied skill trees, a story to be shaped and a successful soul action with which to throw yourself into battle: Kingdom of Amalur is a complete work from every point of view and the fact of being able to enjoy it now also in total freedom with Nintendo Switch it is certainly an aspect not to be underestimated.
Kingdom of Amalur Re-Reckong: technical aspect
When you find yourself in front of a port on Switch of a title previously released on the classic consoles the greatest doubts that emerge are always those relating to the technical stability of the game. While in the last few years we have had the opportunity to get our hands on some real technical prodigies from this point of view, such as The Witcher 3, it is undeniable that there have also been several slips. Physiological, therefore, go there with lead feet in these situations.
Kingdom of Amalur Re-Reckoning is fortunately a game that doesn't disappoint in that respect either, thanks to an overall solid framerate and a successful graphic impact, although obviously not at the level of the main exclusives for Nintendo Switch or the similar version of the title for PS4, Xbox One or PC. In short, unless you hated it in its original incarnation, Kingdom of Amalurs Re-Reckoning is a title that could give you many hours of fun even on Nintendo Switch.
