Leaving aside for a moment the heated controversy between Hellena Taylor and Hideki Kamiya, related to the fees for the dubbing of Bayonetta 3, the PlatinumGames designer recently expressed gratitude to Nintendo for the opportunities granted to his game. Kamiya's statements were released during an interview translated by Nintendo Everything.
The words of the designer of the series and, obviously, of Bayonetta 3, are pure gratitude to the Kyoto company. According to the translation of the interview, in fact, Kamiya would have said he was eternally indebted to Nintendo for the possibilities offered. The author specifically refers to the second chapter of the series, thanking the company for allowing him to keep the story intact and to tell it better. This led to the results that we all know and which then led to the third chapter of the series, to be released these days.
Indeed, after the first Bayonetta, Nintendo strongly wanted the second chapter, as well as the rest of the series, to remain an absolute exclusive for its Switch and Wii U. If we consider that, in fact, the confirmation came after the results of the first chapter which were far from striking, it is clear that Kamiya's gratitude is justified. In fact, after the disappointing receipts, the game had not given guarantees of a sequel and the designer says that, for this reason, he will be forever indebted to Nintendo. Finally, with the third chapter, the team was able to expand this way and Kamiya was able to challenge himself in its realization.
In short, despite the many calls to boycott the title, in favor of donations to charities, we can say with certainty that the partnership between PlatinumGames and Nintendo is quite solid. Bayonetta 3 is coming to shelves and is already available for pre-order on Amazon, promising a lot of exciting things for both fans of the series and new fans.
