Dead Space Remake: How to find all weapons and upgrades

There are 9 weapons in total and by finding them all you will get the "Complete Arsenal" trophy/achievement. Most of Dead Space's weapons are found simply by progressing through the adventure, while for upgrades in several cases you will have to search through optional rooms or do a bit of backtracking to reach previously inaccessible areas.


In particular, some power-ups are found in crates with orange lids which you cannot open in any way until the advanced stages of the adventure, as they require thegeneral cancellation of security which is obtained thanks to the side mission "You are not authorized". Here's how to find all the RIGs needed to complete it. Please note that all weapons and upgrades unlocked during the game will carry over to New Game+ mode.

Long al Plasma

The Plasma Blade is the very first weapon you will get in Dead Space Remake, as well as the most iconic of the series. You will find it in Chapter 1 on a workbench, immediately after taking the elevator down to the service workshop.


Upgrades:

  • Cartridge Holder - Chapter 2 - after blowing up the barricade in the Infirmary security station, enter the Clinic and you will find the upgrade on the left, on a bench.

The Stasis Module is also obtained simply by continuing the adventure. Specifically, you will find it during Chapter 1, in the transport tunnel, in front of a malfunctioning door.


Kinetic Module

You will find the Kinetic Module at the beginning of Chapter 2, in plain sight on top of a bloody chest. This item allows Isaac to use Kinesis and move some scenario elements and objects. It will also prove useful for obtaining the 12 Mark Fragments and unlocking the secret ending of Dead Space Remake.

Impulse Rifle

You will get the Pulse Rifle at the beginning of Chapter 2. After getting the Kinetic Module you will have to use it to clear the path of some obstacles. Once done, continue until you come across a USG Ishimura security officer. After a short dialogue you can pick up the Pulse Rifle from the ground.

Upgrades:

  • Kinetic Autoloading - Chapter 3 - available at the shop for 11.000 credits.
  • P.C.S.I. Charger - Chapter 4 - the upgrade is found in the electrical systems storage. To access this room, stand in front of the broken window and use Chinese to move the crates near the door and thus discover a fuse. Shoot him and you can enter the room.
  • Grenades - Chapter 10 - in the lobby, take the elevator that leads to the Water Purifier - East Hull. Once there, exit the elevator and enter the room immediately to the right. The upgrade is located inside a locker that requires a general security override.

Ripper


During Chapter 3, after talking to Captain Hammond, continue towards the preparation room and down the stairs. You will find the Ripper lying on the floor, next to a corpse.


Upgrades:

  • Bounce Locator - Chapter 3 - can be purchased from the shop for 11.000 credits.
  • Angle Launcher - Chapter 6 - you will find this upgrade above the table in B. Andonov's office. It's the first room on the left in the Flow Control area on the way to the West Hydroponics Tower.
  • Carbon Fiber Blades - Chapter 10 - use the tram to reach the Technical Bridge and head to the Machine Center. In this area you will find an orange chest that requires a general security clear.

Flamethrower You will find the Flamethrower in Chapter 3. It is in plain sight on a corpse trapped in the organic mass at the beginning of the corridor leading to the fuel depot, which you must pass through to continue the adventure.

Upgrades:

  • Gelled Hydrazine - Chapter 3 - can be purchased from the shop for 11.500 credits
  • Fuel Tank - Chapter 7 - use the switch to activate zero gravity and once done, float down to reach the Service Room. To enter you will need security clearance level 3. The upgrade is on the floor, in front of a shelf.
  • High Pressure Nozzle - Chapter 10 - is found in a chest with an orange lid (requires general security override to open) located in the Deluxe Staff Quarters. To access it you will have to find and insert a battery into the circuit near the bathrooms.

Contact Beam

You can obtain the Contact Beam in Chapter 4. It is located in the Records Office, a room in the mining administration area that you can only access after obtaining the level 2 security clearance.

Upgrades:

  • Supersymmetric Bond - Chapter 4 - you can purchase it in the shop for 12.000 credits after obtaining the weapon.
  • Diffraction Module - Chapter 10 - use the tram to head to the Mining Bridge and in the first room use Kinesis to move the crates and create a passage to the equipment storage. The upgrade is located inside a locker that requires a general security override.
  • Portable Heliotron - Chapter 10 - use the tram to reach the Infirmary. The upgrade is found on a desk in the Bioprosthetics Changing Room. Level 3 security clearance is required to enter.

Multi-beam gun

You will find the Multi-Beam Gun in the Infirmary during Chapter 5. To be precise, it is located in the Emergency Equipment Warehouse which you can access with security clearance level 2. The weapon is found on the ground in the center of a huge puddle of blood.

Upgrades:

  • Ionized Capacitor - Chapter 5 - can be purchased from the shop for 11.500 credits after obtaining the weapon.
  • Precision Laser - Chapter 10 - use the tram to reach the Mining Sector / Technical Bridge. Once at your destination, exit the vehicle on the left and go forward to take the elevator until you reach the corridor that connects the Hydroponics to the tram station. The power-up is found inside a chest with an orange lid (requires general security clearing).
  • Photon Energizer - Chapter 10 - head to the Infirmary via tram. The upgrade is located in the storage room located between the Chemistry Lab and the Cryogenics Department, accessible with Level 2 Security Clearance.

Force Field Gun

You can obtain the Force Field Gun during Chapter 6, while exploring Hydroponics. The weapon is located in the West Development Chamber, an area you will visit to inject the rattlers with the enzyme. Once you have eliminated the enemies in the area, enter the West Plant Room A and you will find the gun near a corpse. If you have also obtained all the other Dead Space Remake weapons at this point you will unlock the "Complete Arsenal" trophy/achievement.

Upgrades:

  • Subsonic Oscillator - Chapter 6 - can be purchased from the shop for 12.000 credits after obtaining the weapon.
  • Gravitational Amplifier - Chapter 10 - when you are asked to destroy the second tentacle, enter the Consultant's Suite. After the cutscene, explore this area to find the power-up on a table.
  • Suspension Module - Chapter 11 - you will find this upgrade inside a chest in the cargo bay near a Guardian Necromorph trapped in a wall. To open it you need to cancel the security.
