After months of waiting, Disney + has finally launched and you can now easily access some of the most popular movies and TV shows ever created. With so much content available and many exciting ads, many users are rushing to subscribe to the service.
Unfortunately, if you want to use the service directly on your smart TV, you may run into some problems. Currently, the service is only available to Samsung, LG and Android TV users.

This is not a cause for concern, however you can still stream Disney + to your TV, but you need to take steps.
HOW TO WATCH DISNEY + ON PHILIPS TV
Currently, not many Disney + compatible Smart TVs. However, there are many platforms available to help you stream the service to your TV anyway. Here is the list of all compatible platforms:
- chromecast
- PlayStation 4
- Xbox One
- Roku
- Apple TV
- Amazon Fire TV
Before doing anything else, you need to subscribe to the Disney + service. Go to the official Disney + site and sign up to subscribe to Disney +.
Now you can choose one of the alternative methods to watch Disney + on your Phillips Smart TV, just look for the instructions below.
STREAMING DISNEY + CON CHROMECAST
Some Philips Smart TVs have a built-in Chromecast which should make it easy to cast Disney + directly from your smartphone or PC. However, even if your TV doesn't have a built-in Chromecast, you can still buy the dongle and follow the same steps:
- Get the Disney + app from the Play Store (Android), the App Store (iOS) or simply open the website from your Google Chrome browser.
- Open the Disney + app on your device.
- Switch to Chromecast (HDMI input) on your Philips TV.
- Press the "Cast" button on your app.
- Choose your Philips TV from the list of available devices.
- Your TV should mirror the Disney + screen.
STREAMING DISNEY + SU PS4 O XBOX ONE
The platforms on your game console are also compatible with Disney +. So, if you own Xbox One or PS4, you can use them to watch Disney +. Here's what you should do:
PER PLAYSTATION:
- Turn on your PS4.
- Enter the shop.
- Go to "Fence".
- Type “Disney Plus”.
- Select the app.
- Press "Download" under the app icon.
- Return to the main screen.
- Select the “TV and Video” tab.
- Launch the Disney + app.
- Enter your username and password.
- Select the show or movie you want to watch.
- Press play.
PER XBOX ONE:
- Turn on your Xbox One.
- Go to your live profile.
- Press the “Y” button on the controller to bring up the search box.
- Enter "Disney Plus".
- Press the "A" key. This will take you to the Microsoft Store where the Disney + trailer will begin playing. You can watch it or skip it.
- Highlight "Get".
- Press the “A” button again to start the download.
When the app is downloaded, you can access it from the app list on the Xbox One Home screen. The first time you log into the app you will need to enter your Disney + credentials. Next, just choose the movie or TV show you want to play and press the "A" button.
STREAMING DISNEY + YOUR ROKU
If you opt for a Roku player (set-top-box or stick), simply connect it to the HDMI port of your Philips Smart TV and download the Disney + app from the market. Here's what you need to do:
- Turn on your Roku device.
- Switch to the HDMI input on your Philips TV.
- Go to the Roku home screen.
- Go to the “Streaming Channels” menu on the left side of the screen.
- Choose "Search for channels".
- Start typing "Disney Plus" and the channel should appear.
- Select "Add Channel".
- Return to the main screen.
- Enter the Disney + app on the right side of the screen (in the channel list).
- Enter your Disney + membership username and password.
If you've done everything correctly, you should be able to access and browse the new streaming service right from your Philips TV.
STREAMING DISNEY + CON APPLETV
If you have an AppleTV device connected to your Phillips Smart TV, you can install the Disney + app on one of your iOS devices and watch everything on the big screen. This is what you need to do:
- Download the app from the App Store and log into your account.
- Open the Disney + app on your device.
- Tap the Watch Now tab to see all Disney + content and choose what you want to watch.
- Press “Play” on the show or movie screen.
- Tap "Connect".
Switch to HDMI input on Phillips TV and Apple TV will stream Disney + content to your screen.
IF YOU THINK IT'S WORTH IT, TRY IT
If you don't own any of the devices mentioned, you'll need to get one before you start streaming Disney +. However, while this can cost a lot more than just a subscription to the service, you will only have to shell out the money once for the device.
