A few days ago the new Pokémon Sword and Shield DLC was released.
Surely many of you will be facing the endgame of the game and want to get the version Shiny your favorite pocket monster. Well, this guide will help you find the Shiny Pokemon and tell you which Pokémon they will be "Shiny Locked“, That is, they cannot be found in a chromatic version.
How to get Shiny Pokémon
I will immediately begin to tell you that there are two ways to get a Shiny Pokémon:
either through the capture, or through the eggs.
But there is a problem, the probability of getting a Shiny Pokémon is 1 out of 4.096, that is it 0,024%. Fortunately, you can increase that probability to 1 in 1.365, i.e. 0,073%, using the Chromamulet.
To have this precious object it is necessary to capture all 400 Pokémon of the base game. Once this is done, go to the Hotel di Circhester, take the elevator and go up.
Then exit the elevator and jump into the last door on the far left.
A doctor with a mask will be waiting for you, talk to him. As soon as he finds that you have finished the Pokédex, will give you the precious Cromamulet.
Another method to further increase the probability of encountering a chromatic monster is the exploitation of the so-called chains.
This method consists in facing the same species of Pokémon several times, since with each encounter the game will increase the probability of obtaining a Shiny more and more.
I make a clarification, in this guide I did not want to put the chances of getting Shiny in the expansion since, at the moment, a lot of data is still inaccurate. More precisely, the data is the fruit of a study by a Twitter user, who cites one cryptographically secure probability. To say this is wrong, labeling something as cryptographically secure simply means that at the level of data security it is unassailable.
All Shiny Locked Pokémon
As mentioned at the beginning of the guide, there are Shiny Locked, or Pokémon that cannot be captured in the chromatic version in any way.
They can be taken either through a future event related to them or, in the worst case, they may not be distributed at all. You will find the full list of this unfortunate Pokémon category below.
The Pokémon that are not present on the table, you can find them in version Shiny (obtainable with the above methods, or through the private events). Furthermore, through the Dynamax adventures, you will have more opportunities to get yours legendary Shiny.
