Succeed in getting the platinum trophy of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout it could be a difficult task, but having fun is not an impossible challenge, quite the contrary. It is enough to know all the available modalities and also the suggestions to better face the challenges that will lead us to eternal glory. On the other hand, being able to qualify for the next round is one thing, but being able to go all the way and see yourself crowned as a winner has a completely different charm. We have therefore thought to guide you through the different challenges available to you in the most successful launch title of Devolver Digital, which, among other things, even players like Aguero are delighting in these days, between a Champions League match and a 'other.
The commands to move and win
Let's start with the commands. In addition to being able to move in all possible directions, Fall Guys features two different types of jumps: the normal, basic one, which is carried out with the X and the one which is more a dive forward, a belly, to be carried out with Square. The latter can help you gain precious inches in different situations, especially when at the beginning, in the first round, you have to anticipate all your opponents in the direction of the doors that will open. Furthermore, it could also allow you to launch yourself across the finish line before an opponent, so as to mock him when there are two of you left for the last available place for the next round.
Not least, however, the dive can be useful in those challenges in which you will have to identify the right boxes on which to walk to get to the bottom, under penalty of respawn at the beginning of the stage: in the event that there is one that does not convinces, you can lunge forward to pass one and land on the next one. Finally, in the event that you find yourself on slippery platforms or that in any case affect your slope, the possibility of using the dive will allow you to counteract gravity for a moment: we do not recommend applying this strategy, since the serenity and tranquility is the virtue of the strong, in moments of extreme slope, but you could still try. In extreme cases.
Alongside the jumps, in Fall Guys you will also find the command to grab things and opponents, entrusted to the R2 key. If in challenges in which you have to grab your tail and prevent someone from stealing it from you is fundamental, you could also take advantage of it in other challenges. In Rock'n'Roll, that is the mode that almost seems to emulate Rocket League, you could grab an opponent to prevent him from reaching the ball before you and then throw it into the net: by doing so you could anticipate several shots and then, after slowing down the race, get around the unfortunate and organize a counterattack. Easy to say and write, but with a little training you could do it without problems.
The challenges are divided into three macro categories: Race, Survival, Team. Let's find out together what are the methods proposed in the title developed by Mediatonic and distributed by Devolver Digital. Know that it will not be possible to choose the modalities in which to engage, because it will all be random: the procedural nature of the proposal does not provide for logical lines, so you will discover what you are facing only at the time of the start. With this guide, however, we are confident that we can better prepare you for your climb to success in Fall Guys.
The first category: Race
You will find yourself in an obstacle course, which will require you to reach the finish line before the others. Along the way you may find yourself facing rotating platforms or even objects that will rain on you trying to slow down your run and push yourself to the lower level of the stage. In between there will also be doors to be destroyed or possibly bypassed, in case you end up bumping into one of those that, inevitably, will not open. The proposed levels are 8 and are divided into these: Dizzy Heights, designed to slow down your journey and send you to the sender with rotating platforms, See Saw, with swings that will throw you off balance in the race, Fall Fruit, full of gigantic fruit that will invest you and that you will have to be good at avoiding by taking advantage of the covers at your disposal.
Hit Parade provides spheres that swinging will try to send you off the path while you are walking on a slippery jelly that complicates the path, Door dash, with doors to destroy along the way and with all the players ready to crowd onto the exact one, Gate Crash, with doors that will open to the rhythm of the music, Slime Climb, a vertical route that will require an out-of-the-ordinary climb, e The Whirlygig, rotating platforms and shovels that will throw you as far as possible to respawn, the not-so-secret weapon of all Fall Guys.
The second category: Survival
Once you have passed the first level, the one that manages to skim the starting 60 players more easily, leaving out about twenty, if not a few more, you move on to Survival. Unlike Race, which has eight different levels and which tries to diversify what is certainly the busiest setting and that many players will see more often, Survival has only three variants, all aimed at survival until the end of the countdown. The important thing is not to be eliminated from the game itself. The levels are these: Jump Club, will ask you to stop on a rotating platform and avoid obstacles that will come from time to time, Block Party, very similar to the first but with blocks that arrive very quickly, Roll Out, a roller that will make you stay in precarious balance and will require you to avoid being hit.
The third category: Team
Let's close, therefore, with what are the most interesting and also the most dynamic proposals to experience in Fall Guys. If, on the other hand, the previous two categories simply require you to get to the bottom and not worry about any kind of strategy, with Team the developers have included much deeper aspects of the gameplay. Collaboration is not easy, but it must be necessary, especially in the aforementioned Rock'n'Roll, for which a real team must actually be set up. Also in this case, as in Race mode, there are a total of 8 levels available.
Fall Ball, you will find yourself in a soccer field that will ask you to score in the opponent's goal, with two balls available and the willingness of someone to play defense, Rock’n’Roll, the ball must be brought to the end of the course and it must be done before the others can, Perfect Match, a memory challenge emulating the much more famous Memory but this time with fruit, Tail Tag, a catch the queue of the players who have it aiming to get to the end of the countdown with more queues stolen than the other three teams, Jinxed, challenge to grab the players of the other team with the aim of infecting them in case you are on the side of the infected or to save you in case you are healthy, Egg Scramble, a theft of eggs to be taken to one's base, possibly also from the opponent's base, Hoarders, a challenge to keep as many balls as possible within your game board.
The ending: for the crown!
Once the path is over, you get to the last challenge, the one for the victory of the crown and the title of Fall Guys champion. Let's start with Hex-A-Gone, a challenge to those who can last longer without falling into the void bearing in mind that the hexagons are destroyed once you get on them and that the other players will make many others disappear by falling downwards, Royal Fumble, the enhanced version of Tail Tag, with the aim of ending the challenge being the only player in possession of the tail, Fall Mountain, an obstacle climb with the aim of getting to the bottom first, with the risk of being crushed by huge tennis balls or being hit by wind turbines that could both push you forward and push you back. Three different mini-games leading to the same result: the conquest of the crown.
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is available for PlayStation 4 exclusively in digital format.
