Arriving on the surface of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, one of the first things you notice are the gigantic Zonau geoglyphs that color some regions. Very clearly visible from above, they resemble classic crop circles, drawing gigantic golden figures in the landscape that cannot help but capture attention.
The Zonau Geoglyphs work in a similar way to Zelda's memories encountered in Breath of the Wild: they hold some memories that are essential to reconstruct the plot. Our advice, in general, is to explore them slowly and not to dive headlong into their search, but this is a work dedicated to freedom and it is clear that anyone is free to enjoy it in the way they prefer. Below we have collected one guide to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom which explains everything you need to know about the Geoglyphs of the Zonau, but above all the right order in which to face them.
At this address, however, you can find the well-known guide to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
How do Zonau Geoglyphs work?
The Zonau geoglyphs are linked to a particular mission involving Impa, the old village chief of Calbarico. To easily meet the woman, the best method is to immediately reach the stable which is located on the road that links the Guardia Fort to the Rito village, north-west of the map. In the photo above you can find the exact position of Impa, who you will find in the middle of the vast prairie populated by horses, intent on observing the enormous Glyph drawn on the ground.
Impa will tell you to use her hot air balloon to get a better view of the drawing, and then it's up to you to understand how this particular interaction works. It's actually very simple: looking at the Glyph from above you will notice that it is marked by many drop-shaped symbols. All you have to do is locate the only full drop, completely colored gold, present in the drawing, and once you get close to that particular drop you will find a small puddle of water waiting for you. By touching it, you will have access to a memory that will reveal some background to the plot. Since each Geoglyph corresponds to a specific memory, to witness the story correctly it is necessary to visit all these locations in the right order. Below we will explain in detail how to find out the correct order and location of all the geoglyphs.
All glyphs and best order
After you have solved the first Glyph next to Impa, the one depicting a large Zonau, return to report your discoveries to the old lady and she will leave to continue her research. At this point you can meet her next to any Glyph present in the world, and following the second meeting she will direct you to the forgotten temple in the Hebra Valley, the place that you can see indicated on the map in the image above. The entrance is located at the bottom of the gorge, and you must proceed to the innermost room, in which you will once again meet Impa, but above all you will find a map indicating the location of all the Geoglyphs in the world, depicted in the image below.
Of course, it's a good idea to take a photo of this site, just like we did, and start your search from the geoglyphs. Yes, but what is the correct order of memories that correspond to each drawing? The exact order is depicted on the walls of the room that houses the stone map, but to make your life easier we have created a diagram that indicates the precise order in which to experience the memories. Here is the diagram with the precise order of all the gs present in the map:
We reiterate once again that visiting the Geoglyphs in the correct order brings a clear improvement to the gaming experience. For greater clarity, we will however expose the Geoglyphs in written form:
- Glyph Zonau, where Impa is first encountered.
- Glyph Castle, in the lands of the Rito
- Glyph Tablet of Pruna, just south of Mount Death
- Molduga Glyph, southeast of Hyrule Plain
- Glyph Ganondorf, in the Gerudo lands
- Queen Glyph, just north of the previous Glyph
- Scimitar Glyph, on the peninsula at the extreme south-east of the map
- Demon Glyph, far north of Hebra
- Tear Glyph, on the peninsula east of Akkala
- Glyph Tombstone, in the lands of Firone to the south
- Supreme Sword Glyph, in the lands of Oldin to the north
