There are several methods to reach the center of the Korogu Woods, and at the same time there are several reasons that push players to try to set foot there. There are those who are curious to visit the site that once housed the Supreme Sword, and there are instead those who are looking for Castonne, the Korogu who is able to increase inventory capacity in exchange for the small seeds collected; obviously there are also those who are simply trying to orient themselves in the woods. How do you cross the Lost Woods?
The Lost Woods is the large forest that lies directly north of Hyrule Castle, a large area that you can see in the image above. Descending from the sky is completely useless: as soon as you cross the thick blanket of fog that envelops it, you will be returned to your last safe position. The same goes for anyone trying to enter from the main path, starting from the Stallaggio del Bosco. So how do you reach the Korogu Forest? There are two methods to get to the center of the forest very easily, and we will indicate them from simplest to most complex. Each of the two has its advantages!
The simplest method is without a doubt pass from underground. Just north of the Woodland Stable, near the entrance to the forest, there is a large chasm that leads beneath Hyrule. Once at the bottom, all you have to do is place a nice marker in the center of the forest; follow your marker and you will encounter a very convenient root with which to illuminate the surrounding area and above all a large stone column, exactly the one you can see depicted in the image above. At this point all you have to do is use Ascensus to re-emerge in the center of the Korogu Forest. This method is very quick and easy, but it does not explain how to cross the woods, so it will be very difficult for you to orient yourself to explore the area.
The second method, more traditional, replaces the one linked to torches introduced in Breath of the Wild. Basically you will have to enter from the main entrance of the forest, cross the first stone arch, and from that moment on you will have to be guided by the wind. By carefully observing the fireflies that color the atmosphere, you will realize that they are always pushed by the wind in a very specific direction. By running in the same direction as the wind, you will not be enveloped in fog and brought back to the entrance. Be careful, because the wind changes suddenly! Rather than proceed slowly, we advise you to go around running, and even if it seems that the fog is about to swallow you, turn at the last second and follow the fireflies.
This method is essential for exploring the other points of interest present in Hyrule Forest. Keep in mind, however, that sometimes there are additional methods for safely crossing the woods; following the trails of flowers you will be safe, while very often the foxes will show you the correct way. Make use of all this information to navigate the ravines of the forest and reach the treasures it protects, including some Shrines.
Upgrade your inventory from Castonne
Castonne is the Korogu responsible for upgrading your inventory. Initially you will be able to meet him in random locations in the game world, after which he will move permanently to the Korogu Forest. By bringing him seeds, the quantity of which will increase after each upgrade of the respective equipment compartment, he will increase the size of your inventories: that of weapons, that of shields, and that of bows.
