If you like charging at enemies head-on, the Barbarian di Diablo 4 This is the class for you. Much more resistant than a Spellcaster and a Cutthroat, this warrior can rely on a varied arsenal of melee weapons, abilities that increase health and the speed with which it is regenerated and techniques with which to inflict bleeding and crowd control effects.
Her great resistance and counterbalanced by an offensive potential on paper that is less impressive than other classes, but with the right set of upgrades and equipment you will be able to lay waste to enemy ranks with some ease.
Diablo 4 really offers you plenty of choice when it comes to creating a build and the combinations are virtually endless. Below we will suggest those that, in our opinion, are among the Better builds for the Barbarian to tackle the campaign without problems and as a potential basis for the infinite endgame proposed by the game, obviously with the necessary precautions.
As we also said in our guide to the best builds for the Enchanter and the Cutthroat, the advice still remains to try to create your setup by studying the skills available for your favorite class. After all, the respec in the initial stages is fairly low and experimenting with various builds, even failing, is part of the fun.

The one proposed above is a build that is mainly based on inflicting bleeding to enemies, which proves to be solid in terms of damage and perfect for facing bosses, but also groups of enemies, as long as you manage to group them around you.
tear it will be your main ability to inflict damage and bleeding, accompanied by the very useful Lunge, a basic attack that allows you to accumulate fury and quickly leap from one enemy to another thanks to the shots that the character performs with this ability.
Then we have the Ultra Call of the Ancients, your main resource when you find yourself in a corner or need to clear out a large number of enemies in a short time. Coup de Grace completes the offensive skill kit, an attack to be used expertly on dying enemies to reset their recharge time and generate further fury.
Then we have two Urla. Tactical Battlecry increases the movement speed and fury/major resource regeneration of your barbarian and nearby allies. War Cry, even at the basic level, offers a significant bonus to damage for your character and companions and activates Berserk mode and should be used mainly when facing elites and bosses.
The Crippled and Bones passives leverage bleed to slow down enemies with this penalty and further damage vulnerable ones. We suggest it as a key passive Unbridled Anger which increases Rend's damage at the cost of consuming more Fury, which explains why everything else in the kit is focused on generating this resource quickly. If for any reason you still can't accumulate enough fury to support this bonus, you can fall back on Gushing Wounds.
Since we're talking about a bleed-based build, the only loadouts you need are a good one sharp two-handed weapon or a sword/axe pair (remember that you can assign which equipment to use for each Barbarian ability). For the rest of the arsenal you can do whatever you want: you won't use it but it will still provide you with bonuses in terms of statistics.
Build based on Mallet of the Ancients
- Basic skills (to be assigned to two-handed blunt weapon): Lunge (1/5) → Reinforced Lunge → Combat Lunge
- Primary Skill: Mage of the Ancients (5/5) → Strengthened Mage of the Ancients → Mage of the Ancients Furious
- Defense Skill: Battlecry (1/5) → Reinforced Battlecry → Tactical Battlecry
- Brawl Skill: War Cry (1/5) → Strengthened War Cry → Powerful War Cry
- Brawl Skill: Leap (1/5) → Strengthened Leap → Power Leap
- Ultra Skill: Berserker Rage → Apex Berserk Rage → Ultimate Berserk Rage
- Passive key: Unbridled Anger
- Passive brawl branch: Booming Voice (3/3) - Undisputed Leader (3/3) (multiplayer only) - Guttural Voice (3/3) - Aggressive Resistance (3/3) - Prolific Fury (3/3)
- Passive domain branch of weapons: Pit Fighter (3/3) - Merciless (3/3) - Crippled (1/3)
- Passive Ultra branch: Heavy Hand (3/3) - Violent Strike (3/3) - Primal Energy (3/3) - Tempered Fury (1/3) - Invigorating Fury (3/3)
- Technical Expertise with Weapons: Two-Handed Sword
- Recommended Codex of Power Aspects: Aspect of Ancestral Strength (Sunken Ruins - Scosglen), Aspect of the Edgemaster (Ancestral Stones - Scosglen), Aspect of Waiting (Underoak - Scosglen), Aspect of Echoing Fury (Sirocco Caverns - Kehjistan), Aspect of Relentless Fury (Consecrated Ossuary - Shattered Peaks).
- Recommended weapons: A good blunt two-handed weapon is all you need, the rest is extra for stats.
This build instead is focused on accumulating as much fury as possible to maximize the Mallet of the Ancients, your main offensive ability, and as fuel for the key passive Unbridled Rage, while also relying on berserking bonuses and some options that increase the mobility of our Barbarian.
As mentioned, Maul of the Ancients is your main offensive ability that hits hard in a concentrated area. In its "Furiosa" version it also gets a bonus to damage proportional to the amount of fury you have at the time of activation, which therefore must be accumulated as much as possible. In this sense, Lunge comes to our aid once again as a basic skill, which guarantees the activation of the Bersek in the "Combat" variant, while Powerful Leap, in addition to offering further mobility, provides a large quantity of this resource.
Also in this build we chose War Cry and Battle Cry, two very useful skills for enhancing damage, activating Berserk and generating further fury. For the Ultra instead we suggest Berserk Rage which goes well with the rest of the kit.
Among the passives we once again find Cripple, which slows down enemies affected by bleeding. It might seem useless in this blunt weapons build, but it actually has its place. In fact, using the bonus arsenal technique for two-handed swords, part of the direct damage is converted into bleed damage, thus activating this passive and, in turn, also Without Mercy. For the rest, the other passives are designed to improve the effects of screams and the damage of blunt weapons.
