Among the various innovations introduced in Fortnite Season 2 Chapter 4 there is also the Kinetic Blade, a weapon for i short-range combat which resembles a Japanese katana, capable of unleashing powerful slashes and causing enemies hit to jump backwards. Here's where you can find it and how to use it.
Where to find the Kinetic Blade
The Kinetic Blade is an Epic weapon (purple) and like the normal guns in Fortnite it can be found randomly on the ground, in chests and in Vaults. However, if you don't like to rely on the luck factor, there are also some points fixed spawns, where you will find this katana lying on a wooden support (as in the image below), ready to be wielded.
We have indicated the points where you can find a Kinetic Blade in Fortnite Season 2 Chapter 4 in the map above. As you can see, they are all located in the southeast part of the island, around the Mega City introduced in this season. Most are found inside the buildings of the major points of interest, while inside small circular clearings, like the one just north of Mega City in the image below, where you will also find one of the 12 NPCs of Season 2 Chapter 4.
How to use the Kinetic Blade
The Kinetic Blade is a melee weapon that has two different moves that can be activated via the triggers on your controller. Pressing R2 or RT will perform the basic attack, the Repelling Slash, which consists of a series of consecutive attacks that not only damage the unfortunate person in question but also throw him backwards, making it more difficult for him to counterattack your attack. With a little cunning you can also exploit this peculiarity to make enemies fall from great heights.
The most interesting move, however, is theDash Attack, activated with L2 or LT. By activating it, your character charges and then performs a rapid and powerful slash, sprinting forward for a few meters. This attack has three charges that recharge over time and is not only useful for taking opponents by surprise but also for performing rapid movements, even in mid-air.
Remember in any case that the Kinetic Blade is mainly suitable for close-range battles, so we suggest that you also bring with you some guns that are ideal for medium and long-range battles. Furthermore, given the peculiar moveset of this weapon it is advisable to do some practice before using it aggressively against opponents.
