If you are about to venture into Far Cry 6, we recommend that you first read our guide in which we list a series of tricks and tips to be able to start your… revolution in the best possible way!
The new iteration of one of the most famous and loved Ubisoft series, along with Assassin's Creed, is finally available for purchase. Far Cry 6 has arrived on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S and we are working to bring you, as soon as possible, a more organic and detailed review. Just like in the case of the Assassins and Templars series, the Far Cry franchise definitely needs a good grounding. We do not yet know if this will be the case and if this sixth chapter will mark a new beginning for the series, but given the cross-gen nature and what is shown we have strong doubts. However, we will be happy to be proved wrong!
Yara's island
The game will take you on a revolutionary adventure on the island of Yara, led by the despot played by Giancarlo Esposito, in a long series of shootings, escapes and stealth phases. Just like Far Cry taught us. If we have already introduced you to the game in general with a detailed article that you can find by clicking here, here we want instead start the various game mechanics. This Far Cry 6 guide will in fact contain a long list of tricks and tips to best accompany you in the different stages of the adventure, from the first hours of the game to the most advanced and demanding ones.
First of all, let's start with some generic advice, and then go into more technical aspects. First, you should always have a equipment for each damage type available in the game. There are six different types and, having them all available, you will have no problem silencing all the enemies that will appear in front of you, each with its affinities. And always as far as enemies are concerned, always remember to make the most of the minimap and the ability to report them. If you haven't found them all, you will see a red halo on the minimap. Look good!
Silence! | Far Cry 6 guide: tips and tricks for the perfect revolutionaries!
I silencers they are very comfortable, especially if you opt for a stealth approach in clearing the fields, but be careful. If you use a silenced weapon for too long in a short period of time, the silencer it could overheat and leave you… loud! Also remember that you can (and indeed we recommend!) Look around while doing things that take several moments, such as disabling alarms or getting allies back on their feet.
Also, keep in mind that equipment with more stars are usually those with more spaces for mods. Most of the weapons are equipped with special compartments for the allocation of accessories or modifications, such as the one for the silencer or to increase the number of ammunition. The most powerful weapons, on the other hand, have real slots for the mods, on which it is possible to apply changes that improve the damage in particular conditions or the like. The general rule is that though: more stars, more customization.
An eye on resources… | Far Cry 6 guide: tips and tricks for the perfect revolutionaries!
By the term "resources" we mean any type of material (dead or alive so to speak) useful the creation and improvement of equipment, as well as for the exchange with other materials or the kitchen. However, there are rarer resources, certainly more difficult to find, but which obviously have a more important use for the gaming economy.
Materials such as the Gunpowder, which you can use to upgrade your weapons to a workbench, or theDepleted Uranium, which you can exchange for extremely powerful items with Juan. Also, always remember to hunt and fish regularly, between one mission and another, because the parts of the animal that you will recover can be used for exchanges or in the kitchen (at La Cantina).
… And one to ammunition | Far Cry 6 guide: tips and tricks for the perfect revolutionaries!
Since we named him, Juan is one of the characters who will help you the most, especially in the early stages of the adventure, with a series of tips and pearls of wisdom. One of her favorites is: Always use the right tool at the right time. A concept that was never true, in the previous chapters of the franchise, as it is in Far Cry 6, thanks to the improved equipment and damage system. You will necessarily have to learn how to best use the types of ammunition that Ubisoft has made available in this iteration, otherwise some enemies will be practically invincible.
Same goes for the "bigger enemies", such as Anti-Aircraft Guns, which will be totally invulnerable to most damage, but they will become very docile under the discharge of suitable bullets. You can only take three primary weapons with you in Far Cry 6, but if you need to, you can always pause the game and access the Arsenal menu, which will allow you to switch weapons at any time, even during a fight.
Adorable Amigos! | Far Cry 6 guide: tips and tricks for the perfect revolutionaries!
The old ally recruiting systems of the franchise have been replaced by the Amigos and, let us say, this is certainly the most adorable addition to Far Cry 6. The Amigos are purely animals that you will have to look for and recruit to help you in the stealth phases and, why not, in the combat ones. We have explored some concepts and characteristics of the Amigos in this guide.
To recruit them you will necessarily have to complete some missions for gain their trust and loyalty. And if at first they may seem not particularly powerful or useful, you can unlock their latent abilities by using them in combat and completing some challenges. Some of these abilities are particularly useful and we advise you to look for the Amigos and upgrade them early in the game.
Vehicles and Fast Travel | Far Cry 6 guide: tips and tricks for the perfect revolutionaries!
The world of Far Cry 6 is truly colossal, and you can realize it from the initial island, which in itself is gigantic. If you try to always move on foot, even with special equipment that increases (and even a lot) your speed, we assure you that it would take you forever to travel between two distant points on the game map. Our primary advice is, of course, to use the vehicles in the game in immense quantities. From motorcycles to cars, you can really find everything scattered on the game map, and if you want to put aside a vehicle that you particularly like, just take it to one of the stations in the game world.
You can also call your main car with a single whistle near a road, making it look like magic. Also present are the classic flying vehicles, much faster to move, but also much more fragile when compared with a Turret or an Anti-Aircraft Cannon. Finally, of course, the fastest way to get around in Far Cry 6 remains the fast travel, which you can unlock practically from the first Guerrilla Camp. And also know that when you use the fast travel, the auto-save will be activated!
Unique Weapons | Far Cry 6 guide: tips and tricks for the perfect revolutionaries!
There is a huge variety of different equipment and weapons in Far Cry 6, divided into the classic categories (Rifles, Submachine Guns, Sniper Rifles, Bows ...) and all of which can be recovered from the Arsenal menu at any time, as we mentioned previously. They also exist Unique weapons in each category, based on a specific normal counterpart, but with unique and unalterable mod sets that define them in a unique way.
From the Arsenal you can hover over a Unica weapon to get an idea of what to do and where to go to unlock it. But always remember that the fact that they are unique it does not necessarily mean that they are better than other normal weapons, which you can modify as you wish. In fact, normal weapons can reach incredible levels of power thanks to the use of mods and accessories, unlike the only ones that show you exactly the maximum they can give you. Evaluate well, even if we admit that the Supremo and Resolver weapons are definitely the strongest in the game.
