With version 1.1 of Honkai: StarRail the cast of Hoyoverse's turn-based RPG has expanded by welcoming luocha. In this guide we will give an overview of his abilities in battle, seeing in detail what the Light Cones, Relic and team sets are to create the best build possible.
Luocha was a character highly anticipated by players as he is part of the path The Abundance and takes advantage of the Imaginary element, both elements that are currently in short supply within the game. Basically two birds with one stone. Fortunately, expectations were not disappointed and on balance it is one of the best units currently available in the game, although it is always good to point out that 5-star characters are useful, but not essential to complete all the activities offered by Honkai: Star Rail.
Trace skill and priority overview
NB: whenever we talk about the values and statistics of Skill, Ultimate, Talents and so on we will always refer to those of the Traces developed at Lv. 9, or the maximum (ver. 1.x of Honkai: Star Rail) without Eidolon bonuses, in order to give an idea of the character's potential once developed.
To analyze this character's kit it is best to start with his Skill, "Prayer of Abyss Flower". This ability heals a single ally health points equal to 58% of Luocha's ATK + 755 points and, thanks to the "Clansing Revival" bonus passive, also removes a debuff.
But the effects of this ability don't end there. In fact, every time a party member's HP drops below 50%, Luocha immediately uses her Skill without spending Skill Points or altering the turn order. A really not bad perk, but keep in mind that once activated, it will take two turns before you can use it again. Finally, whether by activating the Skill manually or automatically, Luocha obtains a stack of "Abyss Flower", a very important resource which we will talk about shortly.
Through the Ultimate, the character deals damage equal to 190% of his ATK to all enemies, removes a buff from each of them (if they have more than one, the most recent one is eliminated) and also gains a stack of Abyss Flower.
The most interesting part of the kit, however, is represented by his Talent: once two points have been accumulated Abyss Flower, the character activates a healing field for two turns and every time an ally launches an attack the latter recovers health points equal to 17,4% of Luocha's ATK + 226,5 and also, thanks to the passive Sanctified, also companions receive healing equal to 7% of ATK.
In short, one way or another the healing will abound and with the right setup you will have an almost invincible team. To the point that in many cases you can use Luocha as a sort of Skill Point generator for the team, using only basic and Ultimate attacks, letting healing come passively through his Talent and automatic Skill activations. On the other hand, if we really want to nitpick, it is that Luocha is more fragile than other healers, as his healing scales on the ATK and not on the maximum HP, which is therefore a statistic that we will not go into upgrade into an optimal build.
With regard to the Trace priority, we suggest you pump up Talent and Skill as much as possible, while Ultimate, although useful, is decidedly less important overall. In any case, we suggest you also invest in basic attacks, since it is the command you will use most often. Furthermore, it is also a good idea to unlock all the bonus passive skills as soon as possible. In addition to the ones we mentioned previously, "Through The Valley" is also extremely useful, as it increases resistance to Crowd Control statuses (such as confusion) by 70%.
The best Light Cones for Luocha
As for the best Light Cones for Luocha, the best option is "Echoes of the Coffin", which features features tailored to this character. In addition to offering a 24% bonus to ATK, it regenerates 3 energy points for each enemy hit by the character's attacks up to a maximum of 9 points at a time. Not only that, every time Ultimate is activated the SPD (speed) of the entire team increases by 12 points for one turn.
Fortunately, there are alternatives, less valid, but much, much more accessible among the four-star Light Cones. The best one in our opinion is "Shared Feeling", which increases Outgoing Healing (i.e. a bonus to the healing given) by 10% and regenerates 2 energy points for all allies every time the Skill is activated, also in this case both manually and automatically.
More accessible, but less interesting, is the "Something for something", which regenerates 8 energy points for a random ally who has less than 50% total energy each of the bearer's turns. This Light Cone can be obtained from the Forgotten Hall shop, so it is quite simple to upgrade to the maximum, thus doubling its bonus.
Best Relics and stats for Luocha
As regards the Relic best for Luocha, our advice is to use a mix with two pieces of "Passerby of Wandering Cloud" (Outgoing Healing +10%) and two pieces of "Musketeer of Wild Wheat" (ATK +12%), in order to increase the healing given and damage to the character. A very interesting alternative is to use 4 pieces from the second set, thus losing the healing bonus, but gaining a very useful 6% extra SPD and a (negligible) +10% damage for normal attacks.
For Ornaments, the choice falls on "Fleet of the Ageless", which increases Luocha's HP by 12% and, above all, increases the ATK of allies by 8% if the character's SPD exceeds 120 points, a condition that is not so difficult to satisfy. Alternatively, the "Space Sealing Station" set is equally valid, as it offers +12% to the attack, with this bonus doubling, reaching 120 SPD points in this case too.
As you may have guessed, Luocha's most important stat is ATK, as his healing is proportional to this attribute. However, SPD and, to a lesser extent, Energy Regen are also important, as they allow you to act and activate the Ultimate more often, with all the benefits of the case. For this reason how main statistics for Relics we suggest:
- Body: ATK% or Outgoing Healing, the second guarantees greater healing, but not by much
- Feet: SPD
- Sphere: ATK%
- Link: ATK% or Energy Regen depending on the Light Cone you use, as the cost of Luocha's Ultimate is quite low
Similar speech for secondary statistics, for which we suggest you focus on SPD and ATK%. Furthermore, a few points of Effect RES (resistance to negative penalties) are always useful, considering that we are talking about a character who has the task of keeping the team upright even in critical situations and therefore in these cases being able to resist effects such as confusion and imprisonment can make the difference between victory and game over.
Better teams for Luocha
Considering that we are talking about a healer, Luocha can adapt to practically any formation without particular problems and therefore there is no more or less suitable team that we can suggest to you.
As mentioned previously, this is an exceptional Skill Point battery and therefore can be paired with characters who instead consume them in large quantities, such as Bronya and Seele just to give an example.
