In the near future, Huawei plans to license its operating system with the HMS dedicated framework inside. Translated, customers will have the Store available AppGallery.
This move is certainly of interest because it would benefit all competition and would face the expansion of a third pole that will clash with iOS and Android.
The words are not rumors but come from the president of Huawei, Guo Ping. Among other things, he reassured customers and investors by updating them a little on the situation and indicating that the company will not stop: the process to make HarmonyOS increasingly competitive is underway and is on the agenda.
HarmonyOS and the HMS, led by AppGallery, can be licensed to other smartphone manufacturers if they have an interest in using them. For now the discussion is expanding in the Chinese territory but it is still - even alone - a huge market and it would be enough to erode important shares of Android.
As for the hardware issue, it seems that something is moving in favor of the Chinese company with AMD and Intel who got the green light to work with Huawei. Notwithstanding that TSMC, Samsung, SK Hynix, etc have already stopped collaborating.
Finally, even if the smartphone segment has momentary supply problems, Huawei will focus even more on networks and the development of new algorithms for artificial intelligence. In particular, sectors such as those of the network do not have the problem of frequent hardware replacement as it is sufficient to manage the equipment for several years.
