Facebook experiments with Tuned, a new application designed to create a private space for couples living at a distance. A real two-person social network developed by the New Product Experimentation (NPE) team of the Menlo Park giant. After a dating app, then, Mark Zuckerberg tries to keep couples together.
The application is currently in an experimental phase and can only be used in United States and Canada on iOS devices such as iPad and iPhone. Expansion into other markets will depend on how successful it is during this testing phase. Tuned therefore is a sort of chat for two where you can share your mood, exchange music tracks via Spotify or create a digital album of your moments.
In general, this app doesn't look much different from any other social network. In the description on the Apple App Store, the features reported - in addition to the classic chat - are the following:
- Private album-style feed just between the two of you
- Connect your Spotify account to share songs and playlists
- Create your mood and see how your partner feels
- Send photos, notes, cards, voice memos and more
- Express yourself with custom stickers and reactions
Tuned - explain the creators - is a “private space where you and your other half can be yourself. You can be as sweet, extravagant and silly as you are in person even when you are away. " According to US media reports, the application is free and does not even require a Facebook account. However, it appears that users are subjected to same rules on the use of data of the popular social network. This means that the data provided can be used for ad targeting activities.
