How to delete a comment on facebook. If you have noticed that you have commented on a post and now you regret what you have written, here is how to delete it.
If you don't like a Facebook comment and want to delete or hide it, you can do it directly from the mobile app or the official website. Comments that you have written, as well as those posted by other users on your posts, can be deleted; the same action obviously cannot be performed on comments posted by other Facebook users. Remember that comments posted by you or other people in your diary can also be deleted.
How to delete a comment on facebook
- Place the cursor on the comment and click on.
- Select Remove…
- Click on Delete.
- Place the cursor on the comment and click on.
- Select Edit ...
- Make any changes you want, then press Submit to save or Esc to cancel the operation.

On the facebook app for smartphones and tablets just hold down the comment you want to delete and the context menu will open where you can press remove.
If you can't find the comment to delete
Access the “Activity log” section. Within this Facebook tool, all comments and posts you have published are recorded. By using it you therefore have the possibility to quickly go back to a specific comment. To view the "Activity Log", follow these instructions:
- Android systems: press the (☰) button to access the app menu in the upper corner of the screen, then scroll through the list to locate and select the “Activity log” item.
- IOS systems: tap the (☰) button in the upper right corner of the screen to access the app's main menu. Choose the "Settings" option, then select the "Activity Log" item.
- Find the comment or comments you want to delete. Only comments written by you are shown in the "Activity log". If you need to delete a comment posted by another user on one of your posts, you need to go directly to that post.
- You can delete comments that you have posted on other people's posts as well as those of other users who have commented on your posts. Of course, it's not possible to delete comments left by other people on posts that aren't yours.
- Access the comment context menu. Within the "Activity log" tap the "v" button for the comment you want to delete. If you are trying to delete a comment directly from the post to which it refers (therefore not from the "Activity log"), hold it down with your finger until the relative context menu is displayed
- Touch the item "Delete" to delete the comment in question. To complete the removal process you will be asked to confirm your action. If the "Delete" option is not visible, it means that you do not have permission to delete the comment in question.
