There is it Hylian Shield in Tears of the Kingdom? This is one of the many questions that crowd the minds of fans of the saga every time a new chapter appears on the market. The answer is obviously yes, the brand's most famous shield is present, and next to it another particular piece of equipment has been added: the Champion's Tunic, the classic blue dress worn by Link in the previous chapter, as well as one of the best armors in the game.
As per tradition, rare objects of this kind are not meant to be hidden inside a simple chest: in order to obtain them it is necessary to solve a couple of puzzles that are very difficult to notice in the halls of Hyrule Castle. How to get the Champion's Tunic
First, to get the Champion's Robe, it is essential gain access to Hyrule Castle. This can also happen very early in the game: all you need is a hot air balloon, some stamina potions, or anything else you can think of to reach the upper area. Since there are no floating islands or buildings nearby, a good way is to use the Schematrix to build a hot air balloon from simple Zoranio pieces. Once you reach the castle you must get to the highest part, where the central tower is located the throne room. There's also a Shrine nearby, so we highly recommend unlocking it even just to get a convenient location for fast travel.
At this point, enter the main tower, go up the side stairs and reach the throne. On the sides of the seat you will notice two braziers, exactly the ones visible in the image above. All you have to do is turn them on to open a secret compartment that houses the Champion's Tunic, visible above.
How to get the Hylian Shield
As for the Hylian Shield, the matter is a little more complicated, but don't worry, we will guide you step by step. The image above shows the portion of the map of Hyrule Castle adjacent to the sanctuary: go there in person. Look below, and you'll notice the base of the floating castle, right next to the moat. Let yourself fall using the parasail and reach the lower floors. The image below details the exact place you need to reach, and which constitutes the only access to the docks of Hyrule Castle. Look carefully at the minimap in the photo to better understand the position.
At this point all you have to do is enter the docks, but we advise you to proceed with caution: this area is in fact patrolled by Floormasters, or the terrible hands that come out of the ground. You have two options: by defeating them all you will be able to face a Ganon Specter and get your hands on some very powerful miasmatic weapons; in case they are still out of your reach, just jump into the water and wait for a while until they disappear, it won't take long.
Once the area has been cleared, upstairs you will find a large brazier in the middle of a circle of small torches: all you have to do is turn it on to make the chest appear containing the Hylian Shield, which incidentally represents the most powerful shield in the game.
