Unlike Link's other powers introduced in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which are available directly after finishing the tutorial, the Schematrix must instead be acquired by completing a specific series of secondary missions, and it is therefore possible to lose it along the way for some time. So let's see how to obtain the Schematrix, an operation that would be best done as soon as possible to avoid wasting hours building the same devices over and over again.
The Schematrix is in fact an archive that allows you to instantly memorize and reproduce any structure or device built during the adventure. There are three functions: the History stores every single construction produced, allowing you to fish out certain architectures in an instant; the Favorites section, on the other hand, allows you to browse the History and put any gadget among your favorites, saving it permanently so you can have it at hand at any time. The last function is the one relating to the Schemes, real rewards present in the game world which reveal the details necessary to produce certain tools; there are two types of schemes: the Zonau ones, dedicated to exploration, and those of the Yiga Clan, oriented towards combat.
Once the project has been selected, simply place the purple ring that develops around Link next to the Zonau tools and the necessary structures, after which the assembly will take place completely automatically. If you don't have the necessary tools, you can spend a certain amount of John - that is, the raw mineral found underground - to carry out construction anyway.
At this address, however, you can find the well-known guide to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
How to obtain the Schematrix
The mission relating to obtaining the Schematrix is the one involving Pruna's apprentice Josha in the Hyrule Guard Fort right in front of the Hanging Castle. Downstairs from where you meet Pruna, you will find the young researcher, who together with Professor Rovely he will ask you to explore the underground. First you must reach Rovely in the chasm south of Hyrule Plain, and it will only be then that Link will be introduced to the underworld; in this segment you won't have to do anything special: follow the bonfires that will lead you to Rovely and you can easily activate your first Root underground, lighting up the surrounding area.
What alarmed the young woman, however, was the presence of mysterious humanoid statues below the surface, and you will immediately be required to travel to the location of these statues and bring photographic evidence to the scientist. Once the situation has been clarified, the next step will be to follow the statues, simply heading in the direction they indicate; the first step is to get down in any chasm in Central Hyrule, with the ultimate goal of reaching the Central Forgotten Mine. There is no precise starting point: all you need to do is identify even just any single statue and follow the direction in which it is facing.
By completing the encounter-clash that awaits you in this place, about which we won't say anything to avoid spoilers, you will finally be able to get your hands on the Schematrix and try it out for yourself. From this moment on, a long chain of underground missions linked to the pursuit of the statues opens up, so we suggest you continue reading only if you want to find out how to complete the entire cycle of missions.
How to find the other underground mines
After obtaining the Schematrix you will be asked to reach the other main Forgotten Mines in the underground of Hyrule, according to a scheme that perfectly follows what happened during the search for the central one. You will be presented with more trails of statues to chase into the depths, at the bottom of which lies the site you are looking for. The first trail of statues begins right in the Central Mine where you defeated Koga: a few steps from the structure you can spot the representation of a Gerudo holding a sword, just like the one in the image below:
Again, just follow the trail to find the next mine, but there is one very important thing to understand: all the mines present underground in Hyrule are located exactly below the main population centers of the world. To find the Gerudo mine more easily, therefore, just go to the Gerudo Citadel, but underground. This information is valid for every settlement in the game: under the Zora Kingdom there is a mine, under Finterra there is another, and so on, so don't forget to explore them all. If you want to discover other secrets regarding the correct way to read the underground map, we recommend that you read the dedicated guide that we have created. Once you finish the Gerudo mine, you will have to do the same thing again in the Lands of Ranel, chasing the Zora Statues that lead to their village. The last Mine, however, could give you some problems.
The last mine cannot be reached in any way, because following the Rito statues you will arrive at a dead end. Do you see the image above? Well, there is a chasm that hides right under the Borgo dei Rito, and which is not marked on the map. To reach it, simply start from the Shrine that you use for the quick trip to the Rito village, after which you have to drop from the ledge and activate the parasail to reach a small hidden inlet that houses the chasm. As soon as you arrive at the Shrine you will notice a character looking into space, and by talking to him you will obtain confirmation of the existence of the hidden abyss. It will be right here that you can face the last battle!
